2023 was far from my most prolific listening year, but I still ploughed through a hefty bank of new releases. There's no specific thoughts on any of the albums here, just the albums, their beautiful (mostly) cover art, and my three favourite tracks so that anyone interested has somewhere to start. Happy new year. 10.… Continue reading My top 10 albums of 2023, and their top 3 songs

2023 World Cup: Team of the Tournament
Back in summer, before Luis Rubiales seemingly lost his mind, the plot, and then his job, hogging the headlines in the process, and before the monolith that is men’s club football restarted its engines, there was a month of blissful international sport celebrating the best players the women’s game has to offer. In an era… Continue reading 2023 World Cup: Team of the Tournament

Euro 2022: Team of the Tournament
It's come home. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole tournament and hope that we continue to see the gap in class and appreciation between men's and women's football decrease through the 31 matches played and the legacy that follows. Beyond the English triumph, there were a host of fantastic games and goals and I only thought it right to take a moment to praise the women who stood out as the cream of the cream.

An incredibly strong contest with unprecedented voting patterns culminated in a shock win for Italy's Måneskin, an… Continue reading Eurovision 2021: Final ratings, rankings and analysis
Eurovision 2021: 10 things to look out for
One of the highlights of my year is fast approaching, and the anticipation is amplified by the two year gap since we last had a Eurovision Song Contest. The combination of countries, music and the results process (a glorified list) has always been a winning one for me in spite of the consistently cringeworthy entries… Continue reading Eurovision 2021: 10 things to look out for
